New Patient Existing Patient Refer a PatientComputer guided navigation can help make minimally-invasive surgeries easier and safer – offering a more precise alternative to traditional open back surgery.
Computer guided navigation involves planning your procedure and performing surgery in real-time, guided by detailed images of your spine. Using 3D images of your back and virtual images of the surgeon’s instruments and tools, we are able to navigate the spine’s anatomy, visualize deformities, and implant screws with unrivaled precision.
Increased accuracy: With computer guided navigation, more accurate screw placement is possible.
Decreased radiation: The technology can reduce or eliminate the need for X-rays when planning and performing your procedure.
Improved patient outcomes: Enhanced precision increases the safety of spine surgeries, which in turn improves patient outcomes and results in fewer complications.
Shorter hospital stay: Because screw placement can be done minimally invasively, there is less muscle trauma and bleeding allowing patients to have less pain after surgery potentially allowing for a shorter hospital stay.
An intraoperative CT scan is taken to map out your spine anatomy. These images are then loaded onto a computer that will create detailed, 3D images of your spine that allow us to plan every aspect of your procedure and plot the placement of screws and other implants.
During surgery, the instruments used contain LEDs that communicate with the computer in real-time. An optical camera stationed in the operating room receives signals from the instruments – allowing us to visualize the procedure in real-time.
